2007 Chairperson report

As chairperson for the Alberta Cursillo Steering Committee for the year 2007, I am pleased to announce that we have a full committee with representation from the North, Central and South Areas of Alberta.

The Cursillo weekends were held as scheduled but there were fewer candidates, although the program was pronounced as very successful by each candidate.

I believe the challenges for next year will be:
  1. To recruit more candidates
  2. To have more team members for the Men's Weekend
  3. To begin an all Presbyterian Church blitz of information seminars regarding the Cursillo Movement. This project needs to be organized and standardized for all to receive the same information.
  4. Our policy and procedures manual has been completed and must be studied and adopted.
  5. We need a Spiritual Director for the Steering Committee.
  6. We must continue to dialogue with Cursillistas, keeping them informed of events

The Cursillo weekend dates remain set. The Women's on the first weekend in May and the Men's on the last weekend in May. Setting these dates and keeping them the same time makes it easier to plan from year to year. For 2008 we have the teams established and they are ready to begin their team building for each weekend.

I would like to thank all those faithful servants in the Cursillo movement, who continue to serve the Lord behind the scenes. You know who you are and your work and attention is greatly appreciated. "It Only Takes a Spark, to Get a Fire Going"
