Guidelines for Consulting Funds
Eligibility:
- These consulting monies may be spent on specific contracts, (such as conflict management workshops, training of teachers, training of leaders etc.) provided that the situation would normally require the assistance of someone with a particular expertise to deal with the specific matter.
- These applications would be on a short-term contract basis -maximum - one year and must be applied for in advance of the event.
- None of this fund should be used to supplement in any way the funding of the Director of Regional Ministries or his/her training.
- Monies may be used to send people for specific training, (such as: stewardship workshops, leadership training etc.) with the expectation that they will share their experience and skills immediately, within the bounds of the Synod.
- The Consulting Fund Applications need to fall within the following parameters;
- Children and Youth ministry
- Mission outreach
- Mission education
- Pastoral initiatives
- Leadership training
- Workshop speakers
Process:
- Consulting Fund Applications must be transmitted by one of the following groups for approval before being sent to the Regional Staffing Council:
- a Session to their Presbytery
- a WMS group to a Presbyterial
- Presbytery initiatives to Presbytery
- Synod Committees to the Synod Administrative Committee
- Presbytery/Presbyterial/Synod Clerks will forward approved application to the Regional Staffing Council Convenor for approval of committee.
- Applications need to be in to the convenor and approved prior to the event taking place. Deadlines for application receipt: January 30th, April 30th, September 30th
- Synod Consulting Funds can only be used for the reason applied for. If funds are not used they must be returned to the Synod Treasurer.
- A report, including a financial statement on the use of the Consulting Funds received, will be provided to the Regional Staffing Council.
